You have arrived to a short slide show, an entry-level tutorial with a case study illustrating how to use KB Meister. Most people average 16 minutes to get a solid overview of KB Meister's basic features. You need no more than that to get to work using it. The case study is called Intern Info, an online portal that provides information to interns. This slide show will first cover setting up the portal's knowledge base intranet. This is the info employees will use in-house to do their jobs. Later, we will show how to make some of that available to public visitors of the portal. |
To begin, the project team has gathered the bits of information that will form their knowledge base. This includes the bookmarks from each employee's browser ("Favorites" in Internet Explorer). But it goes beyond internet destinations (URLs) it includes MS Word documents (policy manuals), spreadsheets (sales forecasts), graphics (company logos), and any other file shared within the company. Now the project team is ready to assemble what begins as a large pile of jumbled information into a centralized online library that everyone can easily use.
